Hunthumber™ JMV240 resins are acid-anhydride-modified polyolefin resin. They are available in pellet form for use in conventional extrusion and coextrusion equipment designed to process polyethylene (PE) resins.
The PE-maleic anhydride grafting adhesive resin Hunthumber™JMV240 launched by the company meets relevant performance requirements and adapts to a variety of process requirements, such as co-extrusion with plastic core for coating and film blowing prefabricated film layer.
The product has the following features:
1.Good adhesive performance, and higher peel strength
2.Tested by clients' hernia lamp, good weather resistance and high retention rate of peel strength.
Characteristics | Hunthumber™ JMV240 resin exhibits physical properties similar to ethylene-vinyl acetate resin (EVA) with the similar density and melt index. |
Applications | Hunthumber™ JMV240 resin is specifically designed to provide high adhesion to both metals and polyolefins when converted into film form and used as a thermal lamination film. It has a low coefficient of friction for easy film handling and provides strong bonds that fail cohesively. Hunthumber™ JMV240 resin can be utilized in the following co-extrusion processes:
|
Properties | Test Method(s) | Typical Value | Unit |
Density | ASTM D792 ISO 1183 | 0.938 | g / cm3 |
Melt Flow Index(190ºC/2.16kg) | ASTM D1238 ISO 1133 | 2.4 | g / 10min |
Melting Point | ASTM D3418 ISO 3146 | 95 | ºC |
Vicat Softening Point | ASTM D1525 ISO 306 | 69 | ºC |
Adhesive Evaluation |
The performance of any adhesive resin should be evaluated within the context of the application. The adhesive is designed to bond materials that would not ordinarily adhere to each other. In most cases, peel strength is used as a measure of performance. Although this is a convenient test, peel strength is affected not only by adhesion, but also by peel angle, separation rate, temperature, and tensile and modulus properties of the materials, and often by the time elapsed since the formation of the bond. Post-treatment of the multi-layer structure, such as heat sealing, thermoforming, or orientation can also affect peel strength. |
Maximum Processing Temperature |
235°C(455°F) |
General Processing Information |
Hunthumber™ JMV240 resins have low softening points; therefore, it is advisable to operate the rear of the extruder as cool as possible and then rapidly increase to the melt temperature. Cooling the screw or the hopper feed throat with water may help prevent bridging problems. We recommend limiting the maximum melt temperature to 235°C (455°F) to protect the EVA from overheating. If the adhesion results are satisfactory, evaluating even lower melt temperatures is suggested. In the event of a brief interruption during the extrusion processing, operating the screw at a low speed is essential. Before extended shutdowns, it's necessary to thoroughly purge the Hunthumber™ JMV240 resins from the extruder using polyethylene and maintain the processing temperature unchanged during purging. |
Storage Condition | Hunthumber™ JMV240 resins should be stored under dry and cool conditions. Improper storage conditions may cause degradation and have consequences on physical properties of the product. |
